On a KM400 with a 2 GHz Athlon playback is smooth, at about 35% CPU 
usage.  For example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fc6FlowLciA -- 
it's just like on TV, so at least 25 fps.  Only the first two or 
three seconds there's some stutter.

Is it not simply some memory bandwith issue?
