[Openchrome-users] System freezes at tvtime startup K8M890

Hi,

I have the following configuration:
Motherboard MSI K9VGM-V, cpu AMD Sempron, ram 1Gb (128Mb used by onboard
video car) tv-tuner Pinnacle PCTV hybrid pro stick USB. I'm running
Ubuntu 6.10, kernel 2.6.17.
I've installed the lastest version of the Openchrome driver from svn
repository. (Maybe not really important, but I use a wide TFT screen
1440x900). The Gnome desktop looks fine, and playing a DVD with gxine
works fine as well.

My problem is that as soon as I try to start Tvtime, the tvime window
appears, stays fully black and the system freezes completaly (no matter
if the Pinnacle PCTV is connected to the system or not). The reset
button is the only way to restart the system. Mouse and keyboard
doesn't react anymore.
If I start tvtime with -v option (verbose) I may see that the system
hangs right after this message:

Xcommon: Received a map, making window as visible (82).

Because the systems hangs completely I suppose this is caused by the
openchrome driver and not by tvtime ?? On my desktop PC, the Pinnacle
PCTV and tvtime (same version) are working perfectly (Ubuntu 6.10 AMD64,
with nvidia video card).

Does anybody has an idea what could cause this problem ? If this is a
bug in the driver, is there any logging file needed to analyse the
problem ? Can I run a debug version of the driver and log debug message
?

Let me know if you need more info...

Any help would be very appreciate,

Regards

Renaud S
