[Openchrome-users] DVI-D and monitor power control.

Hi,

that's the way I've done it on Opensuse 10.2. Compiled and installed
from SVN.
To get the DVI working I needed to do 2 things:

1) Identify the board ID (Xorg.0.log), check if this board has
LCD_DEVICE in via_id.c (starting on line 89). If not add the option with
a | (or). Check other lines as example. Recompile and install in case
of changes ("make clean " is a good one to run first).

2) Check the BIOS settings. Somewhere hidden in all the menus should be
an option which enables the DVI interface, in my case it's near the TV
settings. Change to something like CRT+DVI.

Reboot and it should work. At least it did work in my case :-) . Only
got problems with the power control of the monitor :-( .

For the via boards I read some notes on needing a specific BIOS version
to enable the DVI extension board, not sure on the details, might be
good to search via arena. DVI uses the VT1632A, the VT1636 is for a
second digital interface on the board.
