How is the Via EX support these days?

Thinking of replacing my MII12000 with an EX10000 and wondered if it's worth it?

I currently also have an EN12000 which is proving to be a great
frontend (in a Silverstone ML02 case) for SD and being silent is a big
plus.

I will only be using the EX for SD for the foreseeable future but
would like to have something that "may" be capable of HD further down
the line.
