I tried different mix to get xvmc, without success:
mplayer dvd://1 -vo xvmc -vc ffmpeg12mc,
mplayer dvd://1 -vo xvmc -vc ffmpeg12,
(either with or without leading comma)
and also
mplayer dvd://1 -vo xvmc

instead this is ok for me:
mplayer dvd://1 -vo xv
