As an attempt to answer my own question. Is it that
modes specifically designed for PAL TV, such
as 720x576Noscale, give the same result independently of
whether one is using TV out or VGA, provided I use
a circuit to combine the two VGA sync pulses into the
one required by RGB Scart?
