 I get this on an SP8000 (CN400)

 Distro is Mandriva 2009.0, with no special compiles.
 openchrome is 0.2.903

 Ive tried flashing the BIOS to the Beta1 BIOS
 http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?PageID=22&DCatType=3&DSCat=155

 Ive tried switching from the standard xorg.conf (default is XAA) to using
 the EXA options. Nothing seems to impact the hangs.

 Hang occurs when playing a DVD or vob file with 'xine dvd://' or 'xine
 blah.vob'. I have set up xine to use xxmc by default. Hang can occur at
 any time, but seems more common when near an end of chapter on the DVD.
 Sometimes hang seems to be preceeded by a glitch (screen 'flashes' or
 'judders') sometimes it just stops. The screen remnains showing the last
 frame. Sometimes the disk led stays on, sometimes there is no disk access.
