 I have attached:  Xorg.log.r740-with-openchrome_extended_regs_fix.patch

 Unfortunately it does not fix the problem.

 turmlos:  My Xorg file differs from yours as the drivers were compiled
 with debug symbols.

 Zajec: In your second link, following it's progress.  Yuval Hager applied
 a patch to:  via_lvds.c  I have looked through this file (in revision
 740), and have found that other than the "DEBUG" line the other line is
 included in via_lvds.c.  I am going to revert to revision 686 (the same
 Yuval used) and see if I have any success with his patch.
