 Hi again gang65,

 Easier said than done.

 I tried "recordmydesktop" and "istanbul", both of which seem to have the
 right viedo-recording capabilities.

 In both cases, although video (with green flashes) was being played in the
 Skype window during the recording, the recordings showed ''nothing but the
 blank Skype window'' decorated but with video panel blank.  I suppose this
 indicates Skype's doing something like direct rendering.

 Finally I used KSnapshot to record an image of the Skype screen.  Again,
 video was playing in this when the shot was made, and again, the video is
 absent from the snapshot.  FWIW, find attached.

 Any other ideas?
