i do not like MPL. i don't even know a good reason not to like it, i
just don't. it might be for something stupid like i did not fall asleep
during the mpl'd talks i attended.
i do not like it so much that i just skip the long license discussions
about it. perhaps i don't like it because it was the first binary
installation i ever used from a third party. so, god bless netscape3, i
love it and i miss it -- however, MPL is the bastard grandchild of the
gnu/linux community. it is also not an issue of love or hate. it is
more of a recognition. it is like discovering someone cheating when you
are teaching an undergrad lab. some go undetected and this is really
beautiful.
i like the menu license that the creative commons have. users and
programmers can just use stuff and make stuff up to the point that you
need to worry about it, then you can look it up from there.
it could work something like a license profile lookup table.
