Yes, I see this pretty often, to need X and similiar packages to build 
commandline tools. But what can I do? (a rethorical question) The 
dependencies will grow. Next is lcms as CMM. Given that FLTK is rather 
small and a fast compilation (around a minute), I'd not think that it is a 
problem. I could easily follow your for a big or slow dependency.

If everything is splitted out, I need to write tutorials on how to build 
Oyranos, not how to use it.
