libopenraw was started in order to provide a really reusable library for
parsing and decoding raw files. Clearly not what dcraw is meant to be
(including the refusal from its original author to turn it into a
library, causing the piece a software to be one of the most forked).

It is a lot of work, but I think it is worth it.
