Your need seems to be understandable. However FHS[1] talks about variable
data with regards to the "/var" path. Your data would be fixed. Further
a "/var/share" is not even mentioned. OpenIccDirectoryProposal[2] tries to
be FHS compliant as good as it can. So it would be logical to discuss
the above issues first with FHS people.
