Hello list, hello Uwe

Think over my last post about print color pipeline, I would like to ask
Uwe, if following workflow could be technically possible in future with
Oyranos:

1) Creation of different printer driver settings with assigned printer
profiles
Depinding on his media and quality / speed needs, the user creates
different settings of his printer driver withh assigned ICC profiles for
the settings. These profiles could be canned profiles or individiual
made profiles.

2) Activating connection between printerdriver and Oyranos
The printer driver looks on the computer for Oyranos. If Oyranos is
found, the driver provides to Oyranos the ICC profile assigned to the
current print setting.

3) Colormanagement aware application and Oyranos
A colormanagement aware application talks concerning output device
profiles only to Oyranos. If output is rendered to the monitor, it uses
the monitor profile specified in Oyranos.
During printing it uses the print profile from Oyranos, which gets it
automatically from the printer driver.

Uwe,
- Would this technically possible ?
- Do you think, such workflow would make sense from your point of view ?

Best regards
Jan-Peter

PS: it would be also interesting for me to hear, what people form the
Gnome colormanager community would think about this workflow idea.
