Sure, but I've already clarified that the qualifier is free text, not
limited to the dotted notation which you have to use with ColorSync.
As soon as you have two or more qualifiers per profile, one orthogonal
to the others, this becomes impossible to put into a sane GUI or for
real users to develop a mental map of the settings.

For some definition of users. Any interaction designer will tell you
that users don't typically belong in distinct groups. For instance, I
would consider myself a photographer, and a designer when taking
photos and editing them in darktable. And then I'm a web user when I
upload the finished result to flikr.

Most good interaction design books describe this much better than I can.
