Virtual Box is $0. :-D It's useful for not having to reboot natively.

I have a 6 year old Dell laptop that runs Fedora 14 natively, but it has other limitations including inability to connect an external display. Shortly I will migrate the current Core 2 Duo laptop to native Fedora boot and I will use kvm there, most likely to test virtualization further. But at the moment with Virtual Box on OS X I'm stuck with very limited video it appears.
