Erm, colord isn't monolithic at all, I would even say the opposite.
It's true to say that a lot of other frameworks now interoperate with
colord to do various things, but that's a totally good thing. By
decentralizing the project meant that I could get it installed by
default and let others integrate other frameworks as and when they
were happy with an optional run-time dependency.

But that's just arguing about things that I know we'll disagree on, so
I'll stop now.

It's called GNOME Color Manager so the GNOME deps shouldn't be a
surprise, and FWIW, you can use it in KDE and XFCE too.
