[packagekit] Packagekit not using yum plugins?

Hi,

im using packagekit with yum as backend and have installed the plugin
yum-plugin-protect-packages which protects specified packages from being
removed from the system. This works well if i run yum from commandline
(it halts and notifys me that the package im trying to remove is
protected) but if i run packagekit it doesnt work, the package is being
remove even though it is protected. 

So, doesn't packagekit work with yum plugins? Since yum is the backend
for packagekit i find this a bit weird.
