[packagekit] PackageKit on different operating systems

Hi,

Can be PackageKit (or packagekit-qt, KPackageKit) used on other
operating systems, like windows or BSDs (Mac) ?

My other question would be whether you provide a BC API or not. I
heard from the shaman developer it is not your plan, but I cannot
imagine that, maybe he was right, I just would like to know the truth.
