Hi

Trying this mailing list to see if I can solve this with the developers
itself.

I also posted on Arch foruns >>
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=221817

After some checking on your bug tracker I noticed this old thread >>
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91698

Seems to be a very similar situation. I dont use any custom repo so my
is "SigLevel = Optional"

Im using KDE Plasma5 and Discover application to install and detect
package updates.

At the moment it always tells me that the system is up to date, when
there is updates to install (it is Arch Linux, so every day should have
an update available smile )
Installing software using Discover is also not possible.

Manually updating the system with

|pacman -Syu|

works OK.

Installing sofware with pacman also works OK.

If I try to use packagekit to detect the updates it gives the error:

|$ pkcon get-updates Getting updates [=========================] Finished
[=========================] Fatal error: [core]: invalid or corrupted
database (PGP signature)|

install software using pkcon:

|$ pkcon install kwrite Resolving [=========================] Finished [
] (0%) The following packages have to be installed:
kwrite-16.12.0-1.x86_64 Text Editor Proceed with changes? [N/y] y

Already removed the files that were on

|/var/cache/PackageKit/alpm/|

but still persists.
The files that were on that folder dated back to 2015 and I suspect it
was some file remains from the old Gnome instalation (Gnome-software
also uses packagekit)

Some hints:

  *

This Arch install already had most of the DE installed (Gnome,
Cinnamon, Mate). I believe I removed most of the
    dependencies/configurations but you never know...

  *

Used a 2nd partition with another Arch instalation for some time but
now I got back to use only one partition on my laptop. Dont remember
if it was working ok on the other one.

  *

Already reinstalled packagekit and packagekit-qt5 but I dont see any
    difference.

Any clues on how I can solve this?

Thanks

Keit
