problems with pkg-config version 0.18

Hi!

I got the same problem as Martin explains here:

I had a look at CVS and found one oddity in pkg.m4
(http://cvs.freedesktop.org/pkg-config/pkg-config/pkg.m4?r1=1.21&r2=1.22)
In the last paragraph that changed there seems to be an "else" missing.

Re-adding this "else" fixes the problem for me, though there is a newline
missing in configure output.
