I never actually got around to merging your changes here, but picked up
a similar patch from Loïc Minier.  Any chance you could take a quick
look at current bzr and tell me if you think the implementation is sane?
I think it's fine, but more eyes is generally better. :-)  I'm happy to
add your name to an appropriate place in the changelog too, as the
original patch came from you.

(and yes, ancient email, I know, I'm cleaning.)
