Plymouth preview is stuck on one theme

Dear all,

I am using Plymouth 0.9.4 on my Ubuntu 19.04 Gnome 3.32.1. I have always
used the following command to preview the installed plymouth themes,

sudo plymouthd ; sudo plymouth --show-splash ; for ((I=0; I<10; I++)); do
sleep 1 ; sudo plymouth --update=test$I ; done ; sudo plymouth --quit

As of now, the command is only showing me the ubuntu-text theme,
irrespective of the applied theme. I am using "sudo update-alternatives
--config default.plymouth" to change theme and "sudo update-initramfs -u
" to apply them.

For a test, I have removed the package plymouth-theme-ubuntu-text, but now
the preview is stuck on ubuntu-logo theme, which again is the bottom most
in the list shown in "sudo update-alternatives --config default.plymouth".

How to fix the issue?

Regards,
Prateek
