Does policy kit support group-based authorization

What exactly do you mean with this? Do you mean the ability to grant an
authorization to a UNIX group and then have any member of this UNIX
group inherit the authorization because they are member of that group?

FWIW, something like this is planned. It only makes sense, of course, to
do this in the context of the local authority backend. Other backends
may implement similar behavior.

But exactly how the local authority backend is going to work is still a
bit up in the air... I hope to find some time to work on it soon but
it's still on the level of "figure out how this should work"...
