Adrian, why is there StdIn support then? I'm sure I'm not the only one. I gave
a lot of details for my situation for full context, not to single it out as the
only situation.

To help you understand the broader context. I'm using Azure with Blob Storage.
Such types of cloud services are common, where you avoid having any File
Storage at all. When scaling across multiple nodes of web applications, one
needs to provision more File Storage without support for this feature. 

Architecturally, decoupling from the file system, means a more general
interface ( I'm using C# and direct dll integration isn't really an option)
solution which could find uses beyond my own individual need.

I understand your status and reasons for it. It goes both ways of course: "when
it can easily be achieved with a script." - more code in many more projects
which in turn all need testing, and extra code and dependencies on file system.
But I understand that dev resources are the limiting factor.

Perhaps more people will find this in the future and add their support behind
it, and then this ticket might be re-evaluated.

And being listed here, it's possible to assign a bounty.
