[poppler] Pdf-transparency.

         An ExtGState is attached to a page because it's a resource 
for that page - just like a font or colorspace.   HOWEVER, like a 
font, it's only used when you apply the relevant operator.

         Yes, you have to!  How else will the viewer know when to use 
apply the state?
