It certainly wasn't alot faster, although I didn't look too closely.
However, having libjpeg as a bottle neck would be something I am very
comfortable with. If libjpeg isn't fast enough then there are lots of
applications that suffer, and it is better to fix libjpeg then using
xpdf specific code.
