The rendering of the check buttons is the same, just that it seems to have
moved a few pixels, if you use pdftoppm and then
convert $newfile $oldfile -compose difference -composite -colorspace gray
miff:- | display
you'll see it, i just don't understand why it should move a bit

As in the other the position of the tick seems to have moved (use the same
trick to see the difference)

You can just the pdftoppm with new and old code and convert to see the
diffences.
