 Sorry, but I give up here. gdb, debugging and alike is two numbers too
 high for me.

 Apart from that, the following could still be of interest, which we did
 not discuss yet further:

 1. I read somewhere, that my card does not support interleaving. I am not
 sure, if this is true though.

 2, You wrote: It seems as if your for your card has no definitions of
 front:xxx, surround51:xxx and so on, which is already problematic.
 -> So may be the solution could be, to create those definitions by
 creating the file .asoundrc?
