Comment:

I have the same problem. Pulseaudio doesn't restore a microphone volume
after system restart. It's 1.0.9.14-0ubuntu version. It does restore it,
when I give it volume under 100%, but above 100% doesn't work. I did a
workaround by adding an autostart bash script, that runs: pacmd "set-
source-volume mic 89000", which adjust the volume of my source=mic to
 136%.

Maybe it's an alsa issue, since I cannot give it higher volume than +24dB
gain (100%) of my mic in alsamixer (and thus in KMix). Maybe PA restore
the volume and then alsa says "hey, you can set it above 100%" ?

Strangly, I had firstly added a line: "set-source-volume mic 89000" at
bottom of my /etc/pulse/default.pa, but it didn't work, so I came up with
 the autostart-script workaround.
