#806: Bus Errors when /dev/shm is (almost) full
----------------------+-----------------------------------------------------

      Type:  defect   |      Status:  closed
 Milestone:           |   Component:  core
Resolution: wontfix | Keywords: bus crash shm

Comment(by raboof):

 emj: I think crashing when SHM memory is full is acceptable (and probably
 unavoidable).

 It would be desirable to provide better diagnostics, though, and we should
 see if/how this is possible. Does the kernel log anything to syslog when
 it kills a process with a SIGBUS, like it does with OOM messages? If not,
 perhaps that could be added. If so, perhaps we need to better document
 that people should check their syslog on SIGBUS errors.
