Comment:

 This is an alsa bug, perhaps in the kernel and perhaps in lib alsa. I
 recently helped fixed this exact same issue for my HDA card.

 I had to add a quirk (min is mute quirk) to the actual kernel side via
 TLV. But after doing that, it turned out that alsa lib had issues that
 meant it ignored that TLV hint! So it had to be patched too.

 These might not be the final patches that were committed tho' so I'd
 recommend double checking if these are applicable in your case or not.
