With regards to the ALSA error, I suspect it's a simple file permissions
issue; what is the output from this command:
ls -l /usr/lib64/alsa-lib/libasound_module_pcm_pulse.so
If it is only readable/executable by root, you should chmod it accordingly
to allow access by all users. This kind of thing should not happen if you
use distro-provided packages, however and you should report any issues
directly to your distro.
In order to change the device used, you need to use a PulseAudio mixer
like pavucontrol or gnome-volume-control. This UI provides a system to set
the default (or fallback) device and also to move specific application
streams to specific devices.
