 libpulse has to exist, of course. But having to write C programs to
 control a basic system component in these days of python, ruby, and dbus
 is not really the best idea.

 Actually, a python module would be even better than dbus. Until the
 present, incomplete dbus interface is completed, stabilized and enters the
 distros, it will be a long time.
