I assume that libpulse is not "decent" for your purposes. A D-Bus
interface implementation has been started in git master. I don't know when
it will be finished. I will probably be the one who will finish it, though
(it would be great if someone else would help, but I don't see that
happening). I don't think I'll have time for that in the near future due
to school, but in May, at latest, I should start working more actively on
Pulseaudio. My first priority is to review stuff that is pending review,
and the second priority is the D-Bus interface.
The current implementation is actually usable already (see
http://pulseaudio.org/wiki/DBusInterface), but the interface is not final
yet, so it shouldn't be used unless you don't care if your programs break
when changes are made in pulseaudio.
