 Well, I would certainly appreciate the option to set a hard volume limit,
 which cannot be changed by your common application, but only by
 'authorized' ones (e.g. pavucontrol) or via a config file. But I'd prefer
 a gui tool to easily adapt the limit to different types of speakers.

 If a maximum volume setting existed, I wouldn't have to abuse flat-
 volumes=no to get what I (and my ears) deserve.
