Priority: medium
Bug ID: 67175
CC: lennart at poettering.net
Assignee: pulseaudio-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: pavucontrol shows activity in sink volume meter after
stopping playback
QA Contact: pulseaudio-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
Reporter: tanuk at iki.fi
Hardware: Other
Status: NEW
Version: unspecified
Component: pavucontrol
Product: PulseAudio
This probably isn't a pavucontrol bug, but I can observe the bug in
pavucontrol. Steps to reproduce:
1. Start playing something with paplay.
2. Open pavucontrol, open the Output Devices tab.
3. Stop paplay in the middle of the file (so that it stops at a time when
there's no silence).
Expected outcome:
The sink volume meter in pavucontrol shows no activity.
Actual outcome:
The sink volume meter jumps up a bit and then goes back to zero, jumps up again
etc. It looks like pavucontrol receives some buffer containing a bit of audio
over and over again in a loop.
