Hi Achim, in my alsamixer i don't have surround center lfe front..anything.
I think that your solution is the only one, because set pulseaudio 6 
channel it works in many cases.
but my question is for alsa...I saw this topic: 
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=714712
and i have trusted.
i don't know exatly why this configuration, but now the sound of my 
surround is perfect. film, music, flash, sound system. all in 
simultaneous output.
I create those guide because my experience of configuring surround is 
always be configuring also Alsa.
I would not have asked you if it is correct to do so, if I knew how come 
convinced am of the success of the plugin a52.
