+1 Not reaully sure what ThinStation is, but yay for PA support 
everywhere ;)

Hmmm, not very useful :s

Can you try chaning the default resampler in daemon.conf?

By default it is speex-float-3, but you can try something simpler like 
"trivial".

There are also speex-fixed-0/1/2/3 too.

Might be where the FPE comes from... tho' I'm just guessing.
