OK. Well when we upgraded from Fedora 7 to 8 I noticed an odd
distortion in the audio I received from movies and short things on the
VLC media player. I mentioned the problem as a Fedora problem on that
list and was told to delete the pulseaudio rpm(s). I did so and the
audio cleared up.
After a few months of updates the audio got bad again. I looked and
many updates were for pulseaudio. Another person showed how you could
delete all the pulseaudio updates and many people myself included, did so.
I decided to find out why we want pulseaudio and how can we get it
to work on Fedora 8 Linux. I joined this list.
Your right I can't ask a good question because I am not using it. If
you know, were can I d/l a tar ball or rpm of the latest version, and
what is the latest version? I may find it on the web page and will look.
Then install it if possible and test it and report here how it works.
The purpose of a sound server proxy is unclear to me now.
