Ubuntu karmic - at the very bleeding edge. (I'm doing a fair bit of
testing on the sound interface particularly wrt Wine).  Although I
have had the same problem with all recent Ubuntu distributions and
this device.

Note that this device has a firmware download phase, but it doesn't
become a sound device until it changes PCI id after the firmware
download.
