No there should be no solution necessary. The fact it stops is some kind
of bug...
That said, I cannot reproduce here:
$ for ((i=0; i<5; i++)); do echo $i; aplay
/usr/share/sounds/ia_ora-notification.wav; done
0
Playing WAVE '/usr/share/sounds/ia_ora-notification.wav' : Signed 16 bit
Little Endian, Rate 22050 Hz, Stereo
1
Playing WAVE '/usr/share/sounds/ia_ora-notification.wav' : Signed 16 bit
Little Endian, Rate 22050 Hz, Stereo
2
Playing WAVE '/usr/share/sounds/ia_ora-notification.wav' : Signed 16 bit
Little Endian, Rate 22050 Hz, Stereo
3
Playing WAVE '/usr/share/sounds/ia_ora-notification.wav' : Signed 16 bit
Little Endian, Rate 22050 Hz, Stereo
4
Playing WAVE '/usr/share/sounds/ia_ora-notification.wav' : Signed 16 bit
Little Endian, Rate 22050 Hz, Stereo
All works fine and exits cleanly after playing me five "bings" :)
