[pulseaudio-discuss] Can module-echo-cancel reduce the background noise?

I wonder whether module-echo-cancel can support the following features, besides echo reduction during a call:



(1)     Reduce the echo of myself during audio recording in a room



(2) Reduce the background noise
I saw module-echo-cancel has an argument "denoise" but by default it's disabled. Does it work?

How about the effect if module-echo-cancel can support these features? Could someone provide some evaluation data? Great thanks!
