Sorry that's me being not clear. What I meant to say its strange after they are
cleared when PA is killed that restarting the daemon is a problem.
Its either not starting after jackd is killed and the modules unloaded, or
starting and stopping straight away, the volume control icon on the panel is
switching off and on.

Also running pulseaudio -D, gives no indication that the daemon is not
starting, but pulseaudio --kill is saying no process running.

Whatever is stopping the daemon from restarting is not cleared by logging out,
but is by rebooting.
There is a sym link from a file in .pulse to /tmp , any idea what that is as
that probably goes on a reboot ????
