hi list,
i compiled pulseaudio 4 onto linux mint 13 amd-64 with a basic configure
according to below
first clues from syslog occurs after each system startup:
*Aug 6 14:13:53 tarantino pulseaudio[3518]: [pulseaudio] authkey.c:
Failed to open cookie file '/home/fulano/.config/pulse/cookie': No such
file or directory
*Aug 6 14:13:53 tarantino pulseaudio[3518]: [pulseaudio] authkey.c:
Failed to load authorization key '/home/fulano/.config/pulse/cookie': No
such file or directory
*Aug 6 02:58:53 tarantino pulseaudio[3632]: [alsa-sink-ca0106]
alsa-sink.c: ALSA woke us up to write new data to the device, but there
was actually nothing to write!
*Aug 6 02:58:53 tarantino pulseaudio[3632]: [alsa-sink-ca0106]
alsa-sink.c: Most likely this is a bug in the ALSA driver 'snd_ca0106'.
Please report this issue to the ALSA developers.
*Aug 6 02:58:53 tarantino pulseaudio[3632]: [alsa-sink-ca0106]
alsa-sink.c: We were woken up with POLLOUT set -- however a subsequent
snd_pcm_avail() returned 0 or another value < min_avail.
i have a creative soundblaster audigy value/SE 7.1 pci card (yep, its a
fake 24/96 oldie)
essentially ive tried solving this my self for a while but i dont have
enough experience in the sound arena
the only playback issues i have are with internet flash videos and 5.1,
7.1 streams (including DTS) which both play with an intermittent
stuttering or tapping sound - the stuttering or tapping doesn't occur
during times of silence or reduced volume/quieter times - seems to occur
at peaks
conversely, playing mp3, lame, wma, flac 24/96, regular h264 stereo
videos, etc, are ok
i haven't debugged this for a while but from memory i tried altering
fragment values
any initial starting advice would be really appreciated or if need be i
could pass on some terminal output whilst playing
thank you
