I assume that by "not better" you mean "worse". That's strange

Could you set the volume to e.g. 50% (anything not 100% is fine), and
send the output of "pactl list" and "amixer -cX", where X is the card
index of the Xonar card as indicated in /proc/asound/cards? Don't send
the output in your mail, because "pactl list" tends to generate so much
output that the mailing list software blocks such emails as too large.
You can upload the output to a pastebin service and send just the paste
url.
