I've just seen there is a pavucontrol-qt package. Maybe you are using that.

 From https://github.com/lxde/pavucontrol-qt:

"The software belongs to the LXQt project but its usage isn't limited to 
this desktop environment."

So you may have to ask them to change the behavior.
