Requesting approval for X11R6.8.x stable branch (it seems that most Linux
vendors will ship xterm version #197 with their distributions (or are already
shipping it) so pulling it into the stable branch would make  sense, too (and
per Thomas Dickey there are no regressions between #196 and #197 so the update
should be safe :)).
