Reading of position, speed, direction, altitude, etc. from GPS is done.

The GUI currently has options for:

"Keep position on map"
"Keep position centered"
"Show GPS trail"
"Stick to roads"

None of these are implemented (keeping position centered is hard-coded
always-on when a GPS is present).

I hope these options are all clear in the context of GPS navigation.
Are these all necessary?  If you had to pick one to drop, which would it
be?

Are there other options to add?

If a user makes a GPS trail, then what?  I mean, can they save it?  Do
they have a list of trails?  Can they edit trails?
