Hi!

Yukiko, before you upload your file, do it please (maybe you know it :-)
$ mv *.pot  scim-ja_JP.po
$ msgfmt -o scim-ja_JP.mo scim-ja_JP.po
$ su
# cp scim-ja_JP.mo /usr/share/locale/ja_JP/LC_MESSAGES/scim.mo
# exit
$ LANG=ja_JP gedit
=> press Ctrl+Space and check your translation.
